Thursday, July 16, 2009 - At 1828hrs the Carlisle Fire Co., Inc was dispatched to a reported gas leak inside of a residence at 213 Fisher Ave. 1835 Engine 42-4, with Asst. Chief William Carpenter (17), went responding and was advised by Kent Center that unknown if an actual gas leak; RP wanted his stove to be checked due to an explosion and that the stove was gas equipped. Engine 42-4 went on location with all residence out of the structure, nothing evident, and 42-17 established command. The crew from Engine 4 went to investigate while Ladder 42, with Captain Justin Konesey, Tanker 42, with Asst. Chief JR Griffith, went responding and advised by command to stage. During the investigation it was determined that the stove glass had shatter due to heat from the microwave above the stove. Command 42 placed the situation under control at 1844hrs. All units cleared the scene by 1846hrs and all units back in quarters by 1850hrs.
