Friday, October 30, 2009 - On Friday October 30th at 0712hrs, the Carlisle Fire Company was dispatched for a MVC rollover with ejection in the area of the Rt 1 overpass and Bay Road. Command 42 responded with 1st Assistant Chief Bill Carpenter and was advised of same. Rescue 42 also responded under the command of Fire Chief Charles Vanaman and was advised by Command 42 that Route 1 southbound had been shut down and to respond north in the southbound lane to stage prior to Trooper 2. The crews from A-42 and the rescue assisted with patient care as well as securing the vehicle. It was under conclusion from the Sussex County Paramedics that the incident occurred at approximately 0100hrs In the morning leaving the patient on the side of the road for six hours. Trooper 2 transported the patient to Christiana Hospital as Command 42 declared the incident under control at 0739hrs. All units cleared at 0748hrs.
